About Bigfoot Fire Mitigation LLC

Ryan Cook has been working in the fire mitigation industry in La Plata county since 2013. He is a fire mitigation expert. He has extensive experience leading fire mitigation crews and working with homeowners and HOA’s.  He has also worked closely with local fire protection districts, county officials, and state and federal partners to help prepare our community for wildfire. Ryan worked as a wildland firefighter and saw first hand how devastating wildfires can be. He also saw the importance of effective fire mitigation.

Recently, Ryan worked as a La Plata County Coordinator for Wildfire Adapted Partnership and helped implement grant funding for fire mitigation work. He can help homeowners understand which grants are available and assist them through the cost share process, making fire mitigation more affordable. Ryan has deep roots within the community and is dedicated to protecting homes, personal property, and lives from wildfire. 

 

Ryan and his wife, Amber, love living in Southwest Colorado. They have chosen to raise their family here and are ingrained in both the Bayfield and Durango communities through work and play. They enjoy many of the outdoor endeavors the area has to offer like hiking, fishing, mountain biking, hunting, and camping. They feel extremely lucky that their son, Sawyer, gets to grow up in such a beautiful place.
